Indio (Gian Maria Volonté) is a vicious wanted criminal who has repeatedly committed crimes with his gang, and he has a pocket watch that he looks at before every killing spree, and it has a picture of a woman on it. Bounty hunter Manco (Clint Eastwood) is hunting Indio, while another bounty hunter, Colonel Douglas Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef), is hunting the same target. Both of them don't like each other at first, and then decide to hunt down Indio together.
