The orphan Heidi (played by Anouk Steffen) is sent to the Alps by her aunt Dieti (played by Anna Hines) to live with her grandfather (Bruno Gantz), who lives alone in the mountains far from the town. The lively Heidi is like a fish in water here, not only gaining the friendship of Peter the shepherd (played by Quilin Agrippi) and the family of her withdrawn grandfather, but also mingling with Peter's family at the bottom of the mountain. One day, Heidi and Peter were herding sheep in the mountains when her aunt suddenly appeared and coaxed Heidi into selling Heidi to Zesemann's house in Frankfurt.
