On the island of Mai Trin, far from the metropolis, the economy is stagnant and sparsely populated. The medical strength of the local clinic is weak, and for many years, it has been supported by the director Muraki Eiji (played by Yasuhei Otomo), who is over half a hundred years old, and his heart is haggard. Worried that he would collapse one day and paralyze the clinic, Director Muraki consciously searched for a successor, and finally his eyes were locked on the clinic clerk Saburo Aikawa (played by Hiromi Hasegawa).
